EMPOWERING YOUR JOURNEY

Light After Dark

Rise Again: Light After Dark, Hope Over Hurt was born from a moment of truth. For years I carried experiences that shaped me, challenged me, and ultimately pushed me towards a deeper purpose. I realized that sharing my own story could open the door for others to share their stories. What started as a personal act of courage grew into a mission to break the silence, build community, and transform lived experiences into awareness and prevention. My platform stands for bravery, education, and connection, offering a safe space where stories are honored and healing is supported. My brand stands for courage, not the loud, dramatic kind, but the quiet bravery of speaking up, reaching out, and choosing to be seen!

Partnerships: Rise Again: Light After Dark, Hope Over Hurt is proud to be an official partner of the global Mental Health Action Day, a global movement led by MTV Entertainment Group and TaskForce. Joining organizations and advocates around the world to shift mental health culture from awareness to action. Together, we’re building a safer, more connected space for healing and hope.

Our Path Together

We believe that even in the deepest shadows, there is a flicker of hope waiting to be found. My mission is to raise awareness, inspire prevention, and create a safe space for personal storytelling. By sharing my own experiences and uplifting the voice of others, I aim to build a compassionate community dedicated to healing, education, and meaningful change. I am committed to shining light on the realities too often kept in the dark, giving others the courage to share their stories, and challenging the silence that surround these issues. Through advocacy, fundraising, and rallying donations and sponsorship, I strive to expand this platform into a powerful worldwide movement that empowers survivors, drives public understanding, and fuels real, lasting impact. By using my personal story as a catalyst and amplifying the stories of others, my mission is to spark a movement of awareness, prevention, truth-telling, and collective action that inspires hope, mobilizes support, and transforms lives.

                                                                                 Founder

Rachel Windom is a founder, advocate, and survivor whose life has been shaped by both profound struggle and extraordinary resilience. Rachel experienced a devastating loss when her younger sister died by suicide shortly after turning eighteen due to mental health struggles. This moment greatly impacted the course of Rachels life. Drawing from her own journey of long-term recovery and navigating mental health challenges, she reached a turning point that redefined her purpose. Rather than let grief silence her. Rachel chose to build something meaningful from the pain. She created a platform dedicated to awareness, prevention, and the healing power of shared stories in a space where people can speak their truth without fear, shame, or judgement. As a forty-four-year-old mother of three and a wife of twenty years, Rachel brings a grounded, compassionate perspective to her work. Her academic background includes an associate’s degree in applied science for paralegal studies, certificate from the University of Pennsylvania Law for Introduction to American Law, ongoing studies in social work, and completed coursework in psychology, all of which deepen her understanding of the human experience. Rachel’s mission is simple but powerful: to help people feel seen, heard, supported, and empowered. She invites others to follow the movement, share their stories, join the community, and support the work that makes this platform possible. Her belief is unwavering; that every story shared can spark awareness, inspire prevention, and change a life!
